Luxevo Vacations : Through My Eyes

By | Article, Blogs, Business, Food for thought, Places

AS I’M BALANCING THE PLATES ON MY ARMS while walking up to the table to place them in front of the customers, I daydream about what it would be like to feel like I am on a permanent vacation in the sun, relaxing near a beach, and just in a complete state of tranquility. I also think to myself how awesome it would be to be able to use my creative writing ability and English BA degree that I endured four LONG years of college for (you millennials get it.)

Image result for waitressing gif

Well, with the power of prayer and A LOT of patience in customer service, I received the most amazing phone call from the voice of an angel.

“Hi Kellie, this is Jenn at Luxēvo Vacations. I was wondering if you were able to come in on Wednesday at 11 am for a job interview for our Lead Copywriter position?”

I thought it was too good to be true. A copy writer position? Writing? Me writing? Duh! Of course, I will be there Wednesday at 11am!

I woke up Wednesday with a little pep in my step. I got ready and looked my best, in my business attire. I had my social media and writing samples portfolio ready and I was on my way.

My commute was only 7 minutes. Such a perk for someone that loves to sleep in… all the time.

I walked into Luxēvo Vacations corporate office with a big smile on my face. Everyone welcomed me with open arms and gave me a tour of their gorgeous, modern office.

I interviewed with Miranda, Derek, and Dustin and it felt so natural. Just people my age, who get it… who get me. We got to know one another, talked about the job position, and just chit chatted. I left that interview feeling confident and with the desire to work there, so bad.

Image result for job interview gif

…well… not even a half hour after I left the interview, Jenn called me up and asked me to come in for a second interview, Tuesday at 10:30 am. Hallelujah! Yes! I will be there!

I worked the rest of the week at my other job and just wanted to be out of the food and beverage industry. Like I actually felt like wanting to tell someone to get their own drink or stop talking and just give me your order… but I didn’t. I contained myself and got the job done.

So, when Tuesday came, I was so excited to get back into their office. I didn’t know my fate, but for some reason it just felt so right to be in that office, surrounded by those people. Yes, those Luxevo people.

Anyway… back to it… I wasn’t even sat down in the seat yet when they offered me the job position. I was ecstatic, but I totally played it cool, like completely casual… I told them I’m giving my resignation to my current job once I leave here and I will start that following Monday.

Back at the restaurant… I was very excited to give my resignation letter to my supervisor. I was moving on to bigger and better things… the start of my career as a Lead Copywriter! I said my goodbyes and never looked back at customer service again.

….

Fast forward to 3 months later… I am part of the Luxēvo Vacations Team, the Luxēvo family.

This is no ordinary business. This is a place of pure happiness, a place to be yourself and work together as a team, and a place to call home. I never thought in a million years, I would have a job that doesn’t feel like work. I get to do what I love to do; write, write, and write some more, with a group of people that I truly love to be around.

From day 1, I felt like I belong there.

Jenn became my work “Ma.” Being states away from my mom, I miss her. I have my moments where I miss the sound of her Brooklyn accent, her Italian demeanor, and just the way she will critique me with her honest opinion (It’s an Italian family thing). So, when I met Jenn and heard her heavy, New York accent and the way she was so honest and blunt with me. She gave me that motherly, harsh love that I have been missing from my own Mom and it really brought me a sense of comfort (again, it’s an Italian thing.)

Miranda, my birthday twin, trained me to the best of her ability on how to write emails, blogs, social media, marketing templates, etc. We work together and are inseparable. She is my go to when I have any questions. Together, we sound like two hyenas laughing together and once we start, we can’t stop. I’m surprised we haven’t been separated yet… (SHHHH). No but on the real, when work needs to get done, we go into straight professional mode and work, work, work (No Rihanna pun intended).

Those aren’t the only people I am close with. I have really built a strong relationship with all my crazy co-workers, like Derek, Dustin, Joey, Graham, Henry, Samantha, Rolf, Cole, Burt, Patricia, David, Ashely, Nicole, Michael, and Woofer. We do team building exercises on a daily basis, afterwork outings, and eat snacks together. We are a family, a family that picks on each other all day, and laughs about it in the end. With all of our unique abilities, together, we complete Luxēvo Vacations.

On May 16, I attend my first FAM trip with them. We are heading to Karisma Resort El Dorado Seaside Suites in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I am beyond excited to be part of this experience. Just the thought of going to a Caribbean Island for work, is everything that I have dreamed of. Combining my love for writing and my love for lying on the beach doing absolutely nothing but focusing on how tan I can get, into one, truly is something that I will forever be thankful for.

Thank you to my team at Luxevo Vacations for welcoming me into your crazy family!

How to Properly Pack Your Toiletries

By | Article, Blogs, Tips & Tricks

TRAVELING DOESN’T HAVE TO BE STRESSFUL once you figure out the science behind smart and efficient packing. Working in the travel industry; we eat, breathe, and live travel hacks. So, with our help, you will get through the stress of packing, getting organized, passing through TSA with no problems, and not having to pay for an overweight charge. Always remember, the number one trick to packing is only take the essentials!

This blog will specifically go over the most efficient and safe way to pack your toiletries.

Image result for toiletries gif

The essentials for your toiletries are:

shampoo, conditioner, body wash/bar of soap, body lotion, face lotion, perfume/cologne, hair products, deodorant, toothbrush, tooth paste, and sunscreen.

And when we say, only take the essentials, we don’t mean bring your family size products, only small amounts to last you the X amount of days that you are away.

So, lets begin the step by step tutorial on being efficient when packing your toiletries.

1.) Invest in condiment containers! You can buy them at the dollar store, Walmart, or any grocery store. They are 2 oz cups with lids and they come with 25-50 of them, instead of investing in travel size bottles that only come with 3 or 4 bottles.

Take as many cups as you need because the one thing about liquids at TSA is, you can bring on as many liquids as you want as long as they are 3.4 ounces or less.

2.) Fill them up with your products, and make sure to label all the lids, so that you know which product is which.

3.) For safe traveling and no spillage, I use plastic wrap to wrap around the containers. I put one piece around the top with no lid, put the lid on, and wrap a second piece around the whole container and lid, so there is no mess when you go to unpack your products.

Do the same for medicine bottles. I once had a prescription bottle pop open in my bag and I lost most of my meds. It was an issue for me. So, to be safe, plastic wrap all your meds as well!

(BONUS TIP FOR THE LADIES!) Traveling with makeup… Even though I am not the best person to explain how to do this because the only make up I wear is mascara… and even that is a mess… I recommend doing the same thing. It just makes sense to keep all your personal items safe.

4.) ZIPLOC BAGS! To be organized and for more safe traveling, put all the plastic wrapped, safe containers into ziploc bags. If you end up with 3 ziploc bags, that’s okay! Like I keep saying, it is better to be safe than sorry! I usually use the hefty storage bags. Once again you can get ziploc bags at any dollar store, Walmart, or grocery store.

(TIP!) Items to keep separate from the liquids are tweezers, nail clippers, nail file, mini scissors, hair scrunchies or clips, and organized jewelry. Whatever items that aren’t liquid, can go into a different bag.

The same goes for makeup wipes or wet wipes. You don’t need to pack the entire package, just take a few and seal them into a ziploc bag or folded into one of the condiment container. As long as they are sealed tight, they will stay moist and can be used.

5.) Pack all the ziploc bags into your toiletry bag to keep them separated from your clothing items, so you don’t end up with a major shampoo explosion.Image result for major shampoo explosion gif

So, instead of worrying about if your clothes are covered in shampoo or having to take the time to clean everything from that shampoo explosion, you will be able to spend more time enjoying your vacation!

Image result for vacation gif

I personally did this for a 5-day trip to Mexico and it was unbelievable how lightweight my toiletry bag was. Everything was organized and kept together when I unpacked my items. It was relief to know that there was no spill for me to clean up right when I got to the hotel. I will definitely be using this packing hack again! – Kellie Abate, Copywriter at Luxevo Vacations and LXVN.

Don’t Fear Flying

By | Article, Blogs, Food for thought, Tips & Tricks

IF YOU’RE LIKE ME, flying never gets easier. The whole experience is very stressful. No matter how many hacks you follow to try and make it easier, anxiety will always get the best of us. We always fear security, we always fear not getting to the gate on time, we always fear taking off and getting into the air safely, we fear the tiniest bit of turbulence, landing, the claustrophobia kicks in when everyone is trying to get off the plane, and making sure our bag also landed at the same airport.

So, yeah, flying is not always my favorite thing to do, but if you are like me, you continue to do it because you have family to visit and places to see.

With these little tips and tricks, there are ways to fight off your anxiety before you even get to the airport, for a more relaxed experience.

Face the Fear

You know you deal with anxiety. You know it happens every time you fly. So, instead of letting the fear take over and ruin your experience, face it. Admit to it and say, “I will NOT let you control me.” You control the fear. Remind yourself that nothing is going to happen, and you are going to land at your destination safely.

Ask for Help

Don’t be afraid to ask anyone for help. That’s what airport agents and customer service workers are there for; to answer your questions and get you to where you need to go. Even on the plane, don’t be embarrassed to talk to the flight attendants, there job is to make this trip as comfortable as possible for you. You have a voice, so don’t be afraid to use it. Express how you are feeling or if you need anything.

Meditate and Be Positive

Meditation and breathing techniques are a great way for reducing anxiety. With some ambient music and your own space, you can slow down your heart rate and relax your mind. Don’t focus on anything, but the music and the peace around you.

Distract Yourself

If you feel the anxiety coming on, do something to take your mind off of it. Listen to positive music, watch a movie, read a book or magazine, listen to a podcast, or a game on your mobile device. Do whatever it is you enjoy and let it distract you.

Don’t Self-Medicate

Self-medicating with alcohol, sleep aids, or anxiety meds; can cause rebound anxiety and make you feel worse. Also, it could trigger a black out of some sort or enhance your emotions in a negative way, so please be safe about your decisions, and don’t self-medicate.

There are so many ways to overcome anxiety from a travel experience. Don’t let it get the best of you. You are stronger than you think, so show the anxiety who’s boss and enjoy your flight.

Airport Hacks For Easy Traveling

By | Article, Blogs, Tips & Tricks, Vacations

I KNOW WE CAN ALL AGREE that traveling can be a stressful time. The thoughts running through your head, “did I pack enough,” “am I missing anything,” “will that get through security?” and the thoughts go on and on.

After a few experiences in traveling and learning little tricks and tips, here and there, traveling doesn’t have to be stressful. A wish and a prayer just doesn’t cut it anymore for the perfect airport experience. Here are some travel hacks to make your airport experience that much easier

Image result for airport gif

ALWAYS check before hand, if your flight is delayed or canceled.

Nothing is worse than rushing to airport, feeling frazzled and stressed out, just to find out that your flight was delayed or canceled. Sign up for alerts to your phone, texts or emails, about your flight information, so that you are up to date at all times.

Dress comfortable!

There is no reason to dress in your best suit or a pair of high heels. Everything is fast paced walking, taking off your shoes, belts, jackets, and whatever else, to get through TSA, a lot of sitting or standing;  so a comfy pair of pants, flat shoes, and a sweater jacket to stay warm is ideal for the airport.

Keep your ID and boarding pass close to you.

Don’t be that person that is holding up the line because they have their boarding pass or passport in their bag and their ID still in their wallet. You know that security will be checking your ID/passport and boarding pass, numerous times, so keep those items together and in an accessible spot for an easy grab, then when you are comfortable in your seat on the plane, you can put the items back where you think they belong

Keep all your flight essentials in one place.

Have a separate small bag for all your flight needs; like earbuds, snacks, phone charger, book/magazine, small hand sanitizer (because, let’s be real, germs are gross) and medications (if needed). Don’t put it in your carry on, stowed in the overhead bin, and be that person that is constantly getting up to unload their bag and sort through their stuff finding the items. Respect the people around you and be mindful about organization.

Snacks and Water!

If you’re like me, you love to snack and are always thirsty, but airport water and snacks are always more than $5.00 for the smallest one. So, a trick for the water situation, bring an EMPTY reusable water bottle. It will pass through security with no problems, and you can get water from the fountain for free! For snacks, pack some easy, finger foods in clear zip lock bags to take on your carry on. Once again if they are small, easy to eat, solid foods, they will get through security with no problems. It saves you a ton of money and is probably the healthier option as well!

Bring a portable phone charger.

Sometimes all the outlets are taken up or your airport isn’t stocked with those modern phone charging towers, so it is best to invest in a portable charger. Traveling with a dead phone is not fun and leaves you in a state of panic and stress. Do not start your vacation on that kind of note.

Image result for when your phone dies gif

Image result for dont wear headphones at the airport gif

Be careful wearing headphones at the airport!

If you do choose to wear your headphones, then you should always keep one ear free, so that you can hear your flight info; gates could change, times can change, flight canceled, etc. So, don’t miss your flight because you weren’t listening to the gate announcements.

Wear your heaviest items.

If you suspect that your suitcase might be overweight because you are traveling somewhere colder or if you are traveling with some souvenirs, then wear your heaviest items. If you are traveling with a jacket, wear the jacket. If you are traveling with boots, wear the boots. It’s easier to just wear the extra items beforehand, then to tear apart your luggage because it was called out for being overweight and have to pay the extra fee.

3.4 ounces means 3.4 ounces.

Don’t try to sneak your family size shampoo on your carry on because you thought you could convince security it was okay or the extra-large sunscreen you just paid for because you didn’t know. Be cautious of what you are packing. 3.4 ounces or 100 ML is 3.4 ounces, or 100 ML. Security doesn’t care if you just bought it or have 10 kids to bathe on your vacation. They will make you throw it out. So, invest in some travel sized bottles or products, or just wait until you are at your destination to buy them.

Never be afraid to ask for help!

If you are lost or lost an item, confused, have questions, whatever it may be, DO NOT be afraid to ask the flight attendants or security for help. That is what they are there for, to help you when you need it! They will have the answers and if they don’t, they will direct you to the person that does have the answers. It will take any stress away because someone gave you a solution to your problem. No question is a dumb question.

Time for a Break!

By | Article, Blogs, Food for thought, Tips & Tricks

SOMETIMES WE ALL JUST NEED TO STOP what we’re doing, take a breath, and center ourselves.

If you work 5+ days a week, have children, or are in school; you really don’t have a lot of time to be alert of your own necessities. You are so absorbed on getting the job done to please your boss, complete numerous essays for numerous classes to get decent grades, or have to take care of your child’s needs, that whatever you are feeling; stress, anxiety, exhaustion, overwhelmed, etc.; gets shoved aside. We run on batteries and when our batteries start to diminish, we need to rejuvenate and recharge to keep going.

Image result for mental breakdown gif

Feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted are very common in hardworking adults, so taking breaks is keen in staying healthy.

Physical BreakImage result for mental breakdown gif

Take a day off! If you are the kind of person that wakes up 3 hours earlier to go to the gym or have a list of errands that need to be done in one day, just take that day off. If you are running low on fuel, those errands can wait. Take the day to rest and relax!

Allow yourself a little extra sleep. Whether it’s going to bed a half-hour earlier or by sleeping in an extra fifteen minutes, that little extra rest is good for you.

Replace strenuous exercise with something less intense. If you need to get some sort of exercise in for your day to feel complete, do something less intense and try a form of yoga or go for a nice walk.

Relax in a sauna or get a massage. Relax your muscles, let someone get rid of the tension, or sweat out chemicals that build up in your body. Whatever works best for you, just do it because they minimize anxiety, boost the immune system, and reduce depression and anxiety.

Take a long, hot bath at the end of the day, to relax your muscles and joints, calm your mind, and rest.

Take a break from alcohol, processed food, and sugar. Cleansing your body of any toxins will help build energy, so that you don’t feel as much fatigue.

Mental BreakImage result for mental breakdown gif

Take some time to meditate, even if it’s just for five minutes before work, on break, or before bed. Clear your mind, focus on yourself, and escape from reality.

Do deep breathing techniques to calm your nerves and clear your thoughts.

Give yourself a complete day without any financial worries. Put down the bills and statements. They are not going anywhere, so take a day to focus on your needs.

Sing, paint, dance, express yourself creatively. It’s awfully hard to stress and over-think when you’re engaged in something fun and expressive. Blast the music and go nuts!

Go outside and immerse yourself in nature. Feel the ground or grass underneath your feet and focus on being present. Enjoy the swaying trees, the way the sun feels on your skin, and listen to the animals around you. Bask in nature and you will lose track of reality.

Focus on ONE task. I know in your head you have a list of tasks that need to get done but don’t overwhelm yourself. Just do one at time. They will get done. Slow and steady always wins the race.

Take a day off from negative, draining people, even the ones you love. Take a day for yourself. They will understand.

Simply sit. Do nothing. It’s good for you.

Emotional BreakImage result for taking a break gif

Release emotions, for example, write them down, write a poem, draw them in a picture, taking a kick boxing class, talk to someone. Just release the feelings!

Don’t get caught up in your feelings! If you are having a negative day, don’t let those feelings take over, break through by listening to happy music or take a nice walk to shake off whatever is weighing you down.

Count your successes. Make a note of all the things you’ve done well and be proud of yourself. Motivate yourself to keep going.

Replace regrets with dreams. Whenever you start thinking about what you should have done, shift your focus to what you plan to do now. It’s far more empowering and a lot less draining.

Disconnect from technology. Every time you catch yourself judging yourself because of something you saw on social media or wish you had because of something someone else has, or why aren’t they answering my text messages; things like that always cause anxiety and stress, so consciously choose to avoid technology. It’s a lot easier to disconnect ourselves from our phones or social media, then it is to disconnect from our emotions.

Cry if you need to. It’s really okay to cry. It can help you release chemicals and hormones and create a more relaxed, positive state of mind.

Write down the things you’re grateful or thankful for. Identifying the things that have brought us joy is a powerful way to boost endorphins and bring you bliss.

Following these tricks for a physical, mental, and emotional break; will really help you to revitalize yourself. It is perfectly normal to feel strained or overwhelmed, but it’s up to you to do something about it! It’s never too late to start your break today!

Be(ach) Prepared

By | Article, Blogs, Tips & Tricks

HAVE YOU EVER GONE TO THE BEACH and been totally unprepared? You go there happy, but leave burnt, tired, hungry, and dehydrated. Yeah, I think we all have had that at least once, but with these five essentials, you will be totally prepared. Get there happy and leave happy.

WATER

Nothing is worse than going to the beach and not having any water. You are surrounded by crisp, cold, blue water, BUT not the kind that can save your life! Hydrate or die! Water is the number one essential for the beach because laying in the hot sun all day long and swimming in the salty ocean, really dries you out physically and mentally, so drinking water is key! Water, water, water!

Image result for dehydrated gif

SUNSCREEN

Safety first! Sunscreen is number 2 on my list because getting burnt is not good. Have you ever been out in the sun and you just could feel yourself burning and your skin turning red? Don’t say no because you’re lying. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is number one cause of skin cancer, so don’t say I didn’t tell you so! Stay safe, stay healthy, and wear sunscreen.

Image result for sunburn gif

SUNGLASSES

While we are on the subject about the sun, sunglasses are the number 3 essential to protect your eyes from the UV rays of the sun. Your eyes are very sensitive, so the brightness of the sun, reflecting off the sand and water, can damage your eyes easily. Therefore, instead of going blind, just wear sunglasses. Plus, they look awesome!

Image result for sunglasses gif

TOWEL

These are necessary and its okay if you bring like 5 towels just for you because, like I said, they’re necessary. Beach towels are a protective layer from you and the sand because we all know it’s a super uncomfortable feeling when your wet and covered in sand. It’s best to have a towel to lay/sit on, one to dry off with, and an extra just because. They are made thinner for an easy, sand shake off and to dry faster. I will say it one last time, towels ARE necessary.

FOOD

If you’re like me, then you’re always hungry. It doesn’t matter the time of day, you could always eat. Even if you just ate, you could eat more. So, food/snacks are crucial for a great beach experience. Avoid packing any dairy or frozen items that will melt, unless you’re going to bring a cooler, but even that can get warm. Items like chips, pretzels, fruits, veggies, sandwiches… MMM sandwiches… Sorry, back on track, are great to bring with you and can last in the sun.

Having these top 5 essentials for the beach will make for a great experience. You will be hydrated, you won’t be hungry, you will be comfortable, and you will be protected from the sun in more ways than one. So, lay back, relax, and enjoy your vitamin sea.

  • If you get paid bi-weekly, and take $100 out of those 2 paychecks, that is $200 a month saved, over 12 months that is $2,400 saved in a year!

Cut out materialistic items for the time being. Cancel your gym membership, stop buying a coffee every morning, or getting new clothing items for a special occasion. Over time those; $5, $10, $15, $20 items, build up over time.

  • If you buy a $5.00 Starbucks coffee, every Monday to Friday for a whole month. That’s $5.00 x 5 days a week = 25 x 4 weeks = $100! That’s a $100 a month wasted on coffee, that’s $1,200 you can save in one year! So, cut out those materialistic items and save, save, save!

Learn to become a homebody for the time period. A homebody is someone that enjoys spending time at home. By staying home, you are saving money because you are not spending your money!

Only spend money on the necessary essentials. If you have rent due, your car payments due, you are out of toilet paper, or you don’t have any food to cook for dinner, then those are necessary items to spend money on. BUT, if you have a craving to bake cookies or saw a cute pair of pants on the clothing rack, REFRAIN for the time being! I know it is hard to not impulse shop but refraining from buying unnecessary items will also save you money.

Get a side job. If you are having a hard time saving money, you can also get a part time job to gain more money.

  • If you have a four-door car, you can get a job as an Uber or Lyft driver after work hours. If you are great with kids, you can babysit at night to give a nice family a break. If you love dogs, become a dog walker. There are so many options for a part time job, just to build up your bank account a little more.

These 5 tricks are not impossible. Nothing is impossible! If you are motivated and dedicated to taking one great, luxurious vacation, by following these tricks, you’ll save money for it in no time!Image result for spending money gif

Ain’t nothing like the FAM (review blog)

The FAM Trip mission: go to Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and visit as many Karisma Resorts as possible over the course of five days.

(SIDENOTE: a FAM trip, is a FAMiliarization trip).

We stayed at and got the full Karisma experience at El Dorado Seaside Suites, but we got to explore and just get a little taste of the other eight nearby resorts that Karisma offers.  While there we visited:

  • El Dorado Maroma,
  • The Palafitos at El Dorado Maroma,
  • El Dorado Royale,
  • El Dorado Casitas Royale,
  • The Fives Azul Beach Resort Playa del Carmen,
  • Azul Beach Resort Riviera Maya,
  • Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun,
  • and Generations Riviera Maya.

El Dorado Seaside Suites was a fantasy come true. Once we stepped off the shuttle bus; we were greeted with cold, essential oil scented towels, and a glass of champagne. They take your luggage and bring it directly to your room, so you don’t even have to worry about it. The staff treats you like royalty and really makes the whole Karisma experience luxurious.

When I got the chance to step foot into my room, I almost fell to my knees in tears. It was stunning. White tile floors, white walls, California king size bed with all the pillows you can imagine, a rainfall shower, jacuzzi bathtub, mini fridge stocked with snacks and beverages, and a champagne bottle on ice.  However, the best part was stepping out onto my patio and seeing my own swim out into the infinity pool that overlooks the beach. It was absolutely breathtaking.

I was just in awe by the amount of creative detail that was put into this resort. It was the perfect place for a group trip because there were different activities for different demographics. The main pool had music blasting, volleyball, a swim up bar, Jacuzzis on both sides, and the beach was just a few steps away, so you could relax on a hammock or take a nap in your own cabana. You could spend your day at spa, in the gym, or playing tennis.  Also, the night life was alive. There were numerous bars open till 2 am, with music and dancing, so there was always something for us to do after hours. It was a pleasure to stay there.

The gourmet inclusive experience was delicious. Every restaurant was diverse in what they offered with very unique atmospheres. Between appetizers, entrees, and desserts; I rolled out of every restaurant so full, but so happy.

It’s one thing to be spoiled by one resort, but when you get the opportunity to explore 9 resorts in 5 days… I am just filled with so much gratitude. We were able to sample a little bit of all their unique styles, what they have to offer, taste delicious meals, premium drinks, and just enjoy the entire Karisma experience at each of them. We are all so blessed and grateful to be able to experience a once in a lifetime trip like this.

My personal favorite day was the last one. We spent it at El Dorado Maroma and the Palafitos. The beauty and details in these resorts leave you completely inspired. Especially the Palafitos Overwater Bungalows. They had me daydreaming about vacationing there. With the clear turquoise water, the glass floors, the detail that goes into each room, and the peace and quiet as you are standing out on your balcony overlooking Maroma Beach is a mesmerizing experience that will leave you speechless.

The properties were gorgeous and so fun to explore, but Maroma Adventures is what had me ecstatic. We took a catamaran boat just far enough off of shore to where the water was calm, warm, and perfect for snorkeling. We gawked at the coral reef through the clear water, as so many different colored schools of fish that just happily swam around us. I can’t say it enough, but it was truly an amazing experience. As we continued to sail around Maroma beach, we played music, drank, danced, sang, and laughed together.

Once we were settled, the captain asked us if we like swings. “Well, yeah? Who doesn’t?”. So, he pulls out this rope swing attached to a parachute. He explains to us that it his 50% of him controlling the swing and the other 50% is whatever the wind wants to do. We all took turns flying around 15 ft in the air and jumping into the water. As scary as it looked, it was actually tons of fun. After the water adventures, we enjoyed a fresh buffet on the beach, listened to local tropical music, and just absorbed the beauty around us.

My 5 days spent in Mexico is an unforgettable memory. I was treated like royalty and felt like a queen. I lived in luxury and fully indulged in the Karisma Gourmet Inclusive experience. I ate things I never thought I would ever eat, I drank everything, and I did activities I never thought I would ever experience (like holding a hawk or jumping off a rope swing into the Maroma beach).  It was complete bliss. I was so glad to experience this with my Luxēvo Vacations family. I can’t wait for our next FAM trip together!
