Save Money & Money Will Save You

By | Article, Blogs, Tips & Tricks

So, you want to take a vacation, but you haven’t because you don’t think you have the money for it…Image result for spending money gif

Well that’s okay! Because with these tricks, you will be able to save money in no time to go on that dream vacation of yours!Image result for saving money gif

Open a savings account for a vacation fund. Every paycheck you get, take a little money out of there; $20, $50, $100, however much you can afford and transfer it into the savings and DO NOT TOUCH. Let that money build up overtime. You will be surprised how much is in there after a few months!

  • If you get paid bi-weekly, and take $100 out of those 2 paychecks, that is $200 a month saved, over 12 months that is $2,400 saved in a year!

Cut out materialistic items for the time being. Cancel your gym membership, stop buying a coffee every morning, or getting new clothing items for a special occasion. Over time those; $5, $10, $15, $20 items, build up over time.

  • If you buy a $5.00 Starbucks coffee, every Monday to Friday for a whole month. That’s $5.00 x 5 days a week = 25 x 4 weeks = $100! That’s a $100 a month wasted on coffee, that’s $1,200 you can save in one year! So, cut out those materialistic items and save, save, save!

Learn to become a homebody for the time period. A homebody is someone that enjoys spending time at home. By staying home, you are saving money because you are not spending your money!

Only spend money on the necessary essentials. If you have rent due, your car payments due, you are out of toilet paper, or you don’t have any food to cook for dinner, then those are necessary items to spend money on. BUT, if you have a craving to bake cookies or saw a cute pair of pants on the clothing rack, REFRAIN for the time being! I know it is hard to not impulse shop but refraining from buying unnecessary items will also save you money.

Get a side job. If you are having a hard time saving money, you can also get a part time job to gain more money.

  • If you have a four-door car, you can get a job as an Uber or Lyft driver after work hours. If you are great with kids, you can babysit at night to give a nice family a break. If you love dogs, become a dog walker. There are so many options for a part time job, just to build up your bank account a little more.

These 5 tricks are not impossible. Nothing is impossible! If you are motivated and dedicated to taking one great, luxurious vacation, by following these tricks, you’ll save money for it in no time!Image result for spending money gif

Ain’t nothing like the FAM (review blog)

By | Article, Blogs, Business, Food for thought, Industry

The FAM Trip mission: go to Riviera Maya and Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and visit as many Karisma Resorts as possible over the course of five days.

(SIDENOTE: a FAM trip, is a FAMiliarization trip).

We stayed at and got the full Karisma experience at El Dorado Seaside Suites, but we got to explore and just get a little taste of the other eight nearby resorts that Karisma offers.  While there we visited:

  • El Dorado Maroma,
  • The Palafitos at El Dorado Maroma,
  • El Dorado Royale,
  • El Dorado Casitas Royale,
  • The Fives Azul Beach Resort Playa del Carmen,
  • Azul Beach Resort Riviera Maya,
  • Azul Beach Resort Riviera Cancun,
  • and Generations Riviera Maya.

El Dorado Seaside Suites was a fantasy come true. Once we stepped off the shuttle bus; we were greeted with cold, essential oil scented towels, and a glass of champagne. They take your luggage and bring it directly to your room, so you don’t even have to worry about it. The staff treats you like royalty and really makes the whole Karisma experience luxurious.

When I got the chance to step foot into my room, I almost fell to my knees in tears. It was stunning. White tile floors, white walls, California king size bed with all the pillows you can imagine, a rainfall shower, jacuzzi bathtub, mini fridge stocked with snacks and beverages, and a champagne bottle on ice.  However, the best part was stepping out onto my patio and seeing my own swim out into the infinity pool that overlooks the beach. It was absolutely breathtaking.

I was just in awe by the amount of creative detail that was put into this resort. It was the perfect place for a group trip because there were different activities for different demographics. The main pool had music blasting, volleyball, a swim up bar, Jacuzzis on both sides, and the beach was just a few steps away, so you could relax on a hammock or take a nap in your own cabana. You could spend your day at spa, in the gym, or playing tennis.  Also, the night life was alive. There were numerous bars open till 2 am, with music and dancing, so there was always something for us to do after hours. It was a pleasure to stay there.

The gourmet inclusive experience was delicious. Every restaurant was diverse in what they offered with very unique atmospheres. Between appetizers, entrees, and desserts; I rolled out of every restaurant so full, but so happy.

It’s one thing to be spoiled by one resort, but when you get the opportunity to explore 9 resorts in 5 days… I am just filled with so much gratitude. We were able to sample a little bit of all their unique styles, what they have to offer, taste delicious meals, premium drinks, and just enjoy the entire Karisma experience at each of them. We are all so blessed and grateful to be able to experience a once in a lifetime trip like this.

My personal favorite day was the last one. We spent it at El Dorado Maroma and the Palafitos. The beauty and details in these resorts leave you completely inspired. Especially the Palafitos Overwater Bungalows. They had me daydreaming about vacationing there. With the clear turquoise water, the glass floors, the detail that goes into each room, and the peace and quiet as you are standing out on your balcony overlooking Maroma Beach is a mesmerizing experience that will leave you speechless.

The properties were gorgeous and so fun to explore, but Maroma Adventures is what had me ecstatic. We took a catamaran boat just far enough off of shore to where the water was calm, warm, and perfect for snorkeling. We gawked at the coral reef through the clear water, as so many different colored schools of fish that just happily swam around us. I can’t say it enough, but it was truly an amazing experience. As we continued to sail around Maroma beach, we played music, drank, danced, sang, and laughed together.

Once we were settled, the captain asked us if we like swings. “Well, yeah? Who doesn’t?”. So, he pulls out this rope swing attached to a parachute. He explains to us that it his 50% of him controlling the swing and the other 50% is whatever the wind wants to do. We all took turns flying around 15 ft in the air and jumping into the water. As scary as it looked, it was actually tons of fun. After the water adventures, we enjoyed a fresh buffet on the beach, listened to local tropical music, and just absorbed the beauty around us.

My 5 days spent in Mexico is an unforgettable memory. I was treated like royalty and felt like a queen. I lived in luxury and fully indulged in the Karisma Gourmet Inclusive experience. I ate things I never thought I would ever eat, I drank everything, and I did activities I never thought I would ever experience (like holding a hawk or jumping off a rope swing into the Maroma beach).  It was complete bliss. I was so glad to experience this with my Luxēvo Vacations family. I can’t wait for our next FAM trip together!

Take Advantage of a Fully Relaxed Vacation

By | Article, Blogs, Tips & Tricks

WHEN WE GO ON VACATION after a hectic few weeks or months of non-stop working, busy schedule, and full on “adulting”; we have a tendency of not being able to fully unwind. We are filled with so many nerves, so much stress, and can’t seem to turn off our brains from all the hardships of reality. When the vacation begins, it doesn’t even feel like a vacation. This is such a travesty because people only take vacations, like, once a year or none at all!

At Luxēvo Vacations, we eat, breath, sleep, VACATIONS. We want our clients, our friends and family, our guests, to have the best vacationing experience, EVER. So, to really make this vacation feel like a vacation, here’s a list of our personal tips to take advantage of a fully RELAXED vacation.

DON’T BE A CONSTANT CHECKER

Everyone can agree that without our phones, we would feel totally lost. But, being on vacation is the time to disconnect. It is your time to focus on yourself, your mind, your body, your physical and mental health, and to just destress yourself. So, once you land at location and are ready to begin your vacation; don’t constantly check your emails, text messages, or social media. Instead, turn off your notifications, delete your social medias, delete your email app; do whatever you need to do to just disconnect from reality back home and focus on yourself, your surroundings, and follow your bliss.

REST IS THE BEST

When you begin your vacation, you might just feel so exhausted and lethargic because of all the stress, added work, and busy schedule, so you might just need to spend the first days, resting. It is okay to sleep in, take naps, or go to sleep early. When you catch up on sleep, you improve your physical and mental state. By beginning vacation with some sleep, you will be more productive on your trip. Vacation is for restoration.

MAKE MONEY, SPEND MONEY

You spend all this time working, so hard, to make all this money and have nothing to do with it but pay bills. Don’t make money a stress factor. Take advantage of this once-a-year vacation. If you want to eat at the most expensive restaurant, DO IT. If you want to buy one more drink, DO IT. If you want to spend money on a different activity every day, DO IT. Take this time to live in luxury and lavish yourself. Don’t add stress to the trip by questioning a budget. Break the bank and enjoy yourself!

BOOST YOUR ENDORPHINS

Taking vacation, also, gives you time to do activities that you love or to try new things. In-between resting periods, doing activities; like, yoga, swimming, exploring, dancing, etc., raises your positive endorphins. Endorphins release feelings of pleasure, motivation, euphoria, and pain relief. Do what you can to make yourself feel good on vacation.

THE SUN IS GOOD FOR YOU

Definitely wear sunscreen, but the sun is good for you. The “sunshine vitamin” keeps your bones healthy because your body absorbs vitamin D and calcium. Also, it totally feels good to lay out on a beach, take a nap, enjoy a drink, feel the water, and just relax. Let your skin get a nice crispy, golden tan. It’s good for you and shows how much you really took advantage of this relaxing vacation.

Hottest Travel Destinations of 2018

By | Article, Blogs, Destinations, Places, Vacations

As 2017 came to an end, I think we all took a deep breath and reflected on our triumphs and our tribulations, our leaps and bounds and our missteps, our strengths and our weaknesses; you know, the usual, cliché yearly reflection. After that, we all came up with at least one New Year’s Resolution. Mine? I’m going to live more, take more risks, seek out more adventures, and not always play on the safe side of things. That got me to thinking… Many people say that for their New Year’s Resolution, they want to “travel more”. In honor of that, I’ve compiled the top seven destinations to visit in 2018 and, of course, why.

1.

When we think of Rome, we normally think of Julius Caesar, the Vatican, and their breathtaking architectural structures, such as the Pantheon and the Colosseum. Rome has severely influenced architecture, government, and the arts since its creation; and today, they continue to impress the world with their fashion, cuisine and commerce. However, I promise you will regret it if you don’t visit the Trevi Fountain (hello, it’s in practically every movie that takes place in Rome), the Sistine Chapel (come on, who wouldn’t want bragging rights about seeing Michelangelo’s work with their very own eyes), and the Piazza di Spagna/Spanish Steps (not many want to even utter the word exercise while on vacation, but climbing these steps in spring to the view at the top makes it totally worth it)!

2.

Of course, we’ve all heard of the Sydney Opera House or the Sydney Harbour Bridge; but Sydney is so much more than that. They have it all! Between the expansive city, relaxed beach town, and cultural haven, Sydney offers something for everyone! Darling Harbour is Sydney’s waterfront district with the famous SEA LIFE Aquarium, museums, restaurants, and shops, all surrounded by a beautiful marine backdrop. Bondi Beach is famous partly for being less than 15 minutes from Sydney’s city limits and partly for the great surf and even greater coastal scenery. The Rocks, a historic area that was once home to the indigenous Gadigal people, is full of history, personality, quaint cobbled roads, and features a guided nighttime expedition to explore the land (and the ghosts that are rumored to be roaming around). And if you’re anything like me, you wouldn’t be able to leave Australia without seeing some Koala Bears and Kangaroos, and that makes Taronga Zoo a must!

3.

The seaside city of Porto, nicknamed the City of Bridges, is a combination of coastal vistas, historic elements, enchanting architecture and iron bridges. While in Porto you must see the Dom Luís I Bridge, which is particularly notorious because the architect was a student of the man who created the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The Crystal Palace Gardens show off flourishing flora, twisting paths, and spouting fountains. It is a great place for photo ops that will be sure to make all your friends on social media green with envy (he he, get it?)! If you find yourself in Porto and don’t stop to sample their noteworthy port wine, you might as well not even mention to others you visited this coastal city in the first place. Make a wine tasting appointment at one (or five) wineries for an excursion your taste buds will thank you for later.

4.

We’ve all seen the episodes of Friends where the gang (minus a very pregnant-with-triplets Phoebe) travels around the globe to London in support of their best friend, Ross, tying the knot. They show your typical tourist attractions (thanks to Joey and Chandler), such as the city bus tour and famous landmark buildings; but there is so much more to London than guards wearing funny, furry hats and tacky, two-floored, red buses. Of course, you must immerse yourself in London’s history by visiting the Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and the Tower of London. If you’re looking for a birds-eye view of the beautiful and bustling city, the Coca-Cola London Eye is privy to over 55 of London’s most unforgettable landmarks! But when you’re looking to have some excitement separate from architecture, check out the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London in The Making of Harry Potter (eek!) where you can score a behind-the-scenes tour of Harry Potter, including props, costumes, and sets that are famously fun from the movie. For extra entertainment, check out the London Dungeon, which is a 90 minute attraction that takes it’s company through London’s dark, ancient history in an interactive tour.

5.

Paris has so much to offer, so to fully appreciate The City of Love or The City of Lights, (depending on who you talk to), that one trip is just not enough time to soak up the true Parisian experience. The iconic staples are a must, such as he Eiffel Tower, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, and the Versailles Palace. If you’re looking to get a bit of historical education thrown your way, the Musee de Louvre is the way to go; between being considered as one of the paramount art museums in not just Europe, but the whole world, and holding thousands of masterpieces, such as the “Mona Lisa”, it’s no wonder that the Musee de Louvre is known as the most visited museum worldwide! If you want to go a step further in history, visit the Le Marais, which is one of Paris’ oldest sectors, and also home to hidden courtyards, quaint cobblestoned paths, Old-World French architecture, and old-school bakeries and delis. It is also a great place to enjoy lively nightlife, with chic boutiques, popular clubs, and opulent galleries. If you are looking for something a bit less romantic, the Catacombs should be put to the top of your list. 65 feet beneath Paris lays skull-and-boned carved channels that stretch miles in every which way, the Catacombs were created to provide a safe-space for the city’s deceased. This attraction might be a bit pricy, but it is definitely worth it!

6.

So, for this destination, I may be just a wee bit biased, considering my family is actually from the Amalfi Coast (shout out to the Motondo’s!). But even if I wasn’t repping my heritage, the Amalfi Coast is one of those places that you need to visit before you die. It is rich in Italian history, between its old-world allures, such as their timeworn, brightly-colored homes, their long-standing seaside towns, and its exceptional delicacies, (think of everything you’ve ever ordered in an Italian restaurant and then forget about it, because it doesn’t even compare to what real Italian cuisine is). You will never want to leave. If you’re not looking to break the bank, simple trips to the beach or hikes exploring the stunning hills will do just the trick! Exploring the Amalfi Coast by land is amazing, but it’s like only reading half of a book. In order to gain the whole experience, boat or ferry tours allow you to see unobstructed views of the architecture, diverse landscapes, and colorful architecture that will leave you breathless!

7.

You can live in New York your entire life and still not see all there is to experience within The City That Never Sleeps. From the Empire State Building to Broadway to the Statue of Liberty to Central Park, it never ends. Before you embark on your journey to The City, if seeing a show on-Broadway is on your bucket list, it would be smart to buy your tickets ahead of time to ensure great seats. You can spend an entire day shopping on Fifth Avenue, or at least perusing your way through the high-end stores, if you’re a shopping fool. Central Park is great if you’re looking to people-watch or get in some (extra) exercise surrounded by lush trees, walking paths, and peek-a-boo views of skyscrapers. If you have little ones (or, okay, I might’ve done this two years ago, but whatever), visiting Toys R Us at Times Square is very exciting, as they have a Ferris wheel inside with everyone’s favorite childhood characters! There are endless amounts of escapades to endure in in New York City.

2018 is filled with 365 days destined for adventure. Where will your adventures take you?

Let’s Talk Travel Insurance

By | Article, Blogs, Business, Industry

Would you buy a house and not get home insurance?

Exactly… Of course, you wouldn’t!

So why would you spend money on something as important and valuable as your vacation without getting travel insurance? Whether you’re planning an adventure-filled trip or a lay-on-the-beach-and-read getaway, your sanity is key in actually enjoying yourself.

Working with a Luxēvo Vacations Travel Specialist provides you with the security of knowing that you have a round-the-clock advocate with major travel network connections should any problems arise during your sweet escape. Thinking about something going wrong isn’t typically what travelers like to think about when they’re daydreaming about their vacation; and for a good reason, too! It’s scary. But the fact of the matter is, sometimes things are just out of our control

It’s a bird! It’s a plane!

No… it’s your travel insurance swooping in to save the day! When you purchase travel insurance, you are safeguarding your investment and guaranteeing your peace of mind.

Coverage of travel insurance often includes…

  • Trip interruption and emergency assistance
  • Trip cancellation (due to a family medical emergency, death, job loss, etc.)
  • Medical coverage (insurance companies usually do not cover you for illness or medical emergency while abroad)
  • Missed flights or missed connections
  • Baggage delay or baggage loss
  • Hurricane cancellation or natural disaster evacuation

Obviously, everyone, especially us, hopes that nothing like this happens to interfere with your sweet escape.

But, just in case…

You would be covered!

Are Travel Specialist Relevant Anymore?

By | Article, Blogs, Business

BEFORE THE INTERNET AND WIFI; travel agencies were key in planning any kind of vacation or getaway. They were the ones with the hottest deals and the inside connections to have you get the most bang for your buck. They had all of the necessary resources needed to help you create the vacation of your dreams.

But, in today’s world, you can book a trip with just a click of your mouse or a touch of your finger to your phone screen. Expedia, Travelocity, and Kayak, along with Air BnB and HomeAway, seem to have taken over the travel industry quickly and efficiently. So, that poses the question… Are travel specialists even relevant anymore?

Many people might think the answer to that particular question is, “no”. Those people are right, but they’re also very wrong. If you’re planning a road trip and plan on staying in an Air BnB, you probably don’t need a travel specialist to ride to your rescue (ha-ha, get it?) and help you plan your trip from start to finish. After all, the entire point of a road trip is to incorporate spontaneity and adventure into your time away! And if you’re flying from JFK to LAX and staying with family once you arrive for the duration of your stay, there isn’t a ton of planning involved aside from making sure your loved ones pick you up from the airport on time! Even if they do forget, Uber and Lyft can save the day.

However, what if you’re planning a luxury or complex vacation? What if you’re attempting to plan your honeymoon or anniversary trip? What if you’re traveling with your husband and his entire extended family? If you try to plan trips like these on your own, you’re going to end up needing a vacation from your vacation and trust me, no one wants that!

Here are some reasons why travel specialists, particularly Luxēvo Vacations, ARE still relevant.Image result for travel agent gif

Luxēvo Vacations Travel Specialists have access to a vast network of travel deals— ones that you can’t find on an online website just scrolling through reduced prices. We have a great number of connections within the industry and are able to get you the lowest price possible (and if you happen to find a better deal, we will price-match it). Because we are experts in our line of work, we work very closely with multiple vendors and high-end resorts, so we are able to give you all the perks and upgrades that no other travel agency or travel site could!

Another misconception about Travel Specialists is that you have to pay them for their services. WRONG With us! There are no hidden fees or fine prints marked by asterisks that say, “oh, just kidding! You actually do have to pay us for our amazing services!” That’s not how we operate. We enjoy building life-long relationships with our clients. We love to hear all about their amazing vacations and see pictures from their time spent away from all the chaos of everyday life! We help you plan a trip that mimics the one you dream about, and we don’t charge you a fee for our expertise, knowledge, or our connections.

At Luxēvo Vacations, we guarantee you peace of mind from before you even leave for your trip! We take care of absolutely everything, like giving you a packing list, arranging your flights, your transportation, your arrival at the resort of your choice, planning every activity and excursion you desire. We will make sure everything goes accordingly. Of course, we understand that sometimes there is no way to stop unforeseen circumstances from causing problems; but instead of washing our hands and leaving you to deal with the little hiccups, we are the ones who will step in and fix things licked-y split! We provide you with our direct phone numbers and emails, so that we can keep directly in touch, to solve whatever problem there is. After all, who wants to be stressed on vacation? Answer: uh, no one!

Plus, booking travel is literally our job! This is what we do for a living. So, let’s say you researched a particular resort or hotel and fell in love with the pictures on the website (and the price wasn’t so shabby, either), but our agents know from personal experience that the customer service is horrendous. We can stop you from making a terrible mistake; and instead, offer you an alternative resort that offers the same amenities but with a brighter, friendlier staff!

We also know the ins and outs of travel insurance, passport requirements, visas, customs, cultures and all of the “what to do’s” and “what not to do’s” depending on the destination you will be visiting. Instead of having to spend hours upon hours researching your destination, resort, and all other aspects of travel, we can take care of it all with just a snap of our fingers (yes, we’re that good)! There is no reason for your next vacation to be stressful, with a travel specialist, we can make it easy breezy!Related image

The founders of Luxēvo Vacations work very closely with their employees and their Travel Specialists to create a knowledgeable, pleasant, and trustworthy environment for all parties. With over twenty years in the travel industry, they have dedicated their lives to making this company unlike any other! Take it from someone who works with them every day!
